Job Description
Manages all aspects of food, product and equipment during a shift by working closely with the Executive Chef and Nutrition Services team members.  Contributes to a positive workflow, high standards of quality and sanitation, team work and service excellence.  Assists Executive Chef with menu development. Ensures adherence to company standards of food quality. Maintains product consistency by conducting inspections of seasonings, portion control and food appearance.  Supervises the daily set-up.  Anticipates business volume and stocks work areas accordingly.  Recruits and selects staff. Ensures safety and sanitation by developing and communicating the safety plan.  Analyzes business volume and product usage daily and manages inventory.  Prepares reports summarizing key metrics.  Keeps current in the local market to remain competitive.  Participates in establishing customer service standards and contributes to achieving those standards. Participates in and contributes to kitchen strategic planning and implementation of business strategies.  Directs the work of others.  Performs related duties as assigned.
 
Minimum Qualifications:
1.     High School degree or equivalent
2.     Three years of culinary experience
3.     ACF and ServSafe Certification preferred with expectation of certification after hire.  
4.     Idaho Food Code Card required.
 
Essential Job Functions:
Regular and predictable attendance is an essential job function.
Moderate physical activity. Requires handling of average-weight objects a minimum of 25 pounds or standing and/or walking for more than six (6) hours per day.
Ability to use units of weight measurement and volume.
Communicate with patients, physicians, families and co-workers in person and on telephone.
Work with equipment and manipulate equipment settings, computer keyboard, etc.
 
 Work Environment: 
·         Kootenai Health operates 24 hours per day each day of the year; operational needs of departments may require that you be available to work all shifts, weekends and holidays to meet the needs of the patients.
·         Kootenai Health Clinic locations have operation hours based on locations and patient needs therefore availability to work all shifts, weekends and holidays as appropriate for location will be expected and required.
·         Work is normally performed in a typical interior work environment.
