Performs and reviews baseline patient assessments, evaluates patient response to diagnostic or interventional maneuvers and medications during Electrophysiology laboratory procedures. Provides procedure set-up and scrub assistance to physician during diagnostic EP and advanced implant procedures. Accurately and efficiently monitors, interprets, collects and records patient data. Provides patient care as directed by a qualified physician. Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is expected. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Graduate of an accredited school of cardiovascular or radiographic technology required. Minimum of 3 years experience in a cardiovascular laboratory required. Completion of Electrophysiology intern program of a minimum of 6 months or one year Electrophysiology technologist experience required. Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist preferred. BLS Required. Current AHA Healthcare provider, American Red Cross, AHA Health Saver or KMC BLS within 60 days of hire. Essential Job Functions (Physical Requirements): On feet a minimum of 8-12 hours, depending on length of shift. Frequent stooping, bending, reaching, lifting and pushing equipment up to 35 pounds. Read charts, dials, equipment settings, literature and other printed and handwritten materials. Communicate with patients, physicians, families and co-workers in person, in writing and on telephone. Work with equipment and manipulate equipment settings, computer keyboard, etc. Work Environment: Kootenai Health operates 24 hours per day each day of the year; operational needs of departments may require that you be available to work all shifts, weekends and holidays to meet the needs of the patients. Work is normally performed in a typical interior work environment.
