EHS Manager Darigold has a great opportunity for an experienced an Environmental, Health, & Safety (EHS) Manager to join our Spokane, WA team. This role is responsible for leading EHS regulatory compliance and best management practices through the implementation of the Darigold EHS Management System for the Spokane facility. Reporting to the Sr. EHS Manager, the EHS Manager works closely with plant management and staff to effectively coordinate and implement critical EHS programs to ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, agency guidelines and expectations, and Darigold's EHS policies. This position is instrumental in responding to all environmental, health and safety incidents and operational upsets.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: (other duties as assigned) -Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state and local requirements governing environmental protection and occupational safety and health standards by staying current and informed on federal, state, and local rules and regulations. -Monitor environmental compliance and assure timely internal and external reporting and data input into Darigold's tracking systems. Alert and advise Plant Manager and corporate EHS staff when permit and /or compliance issues develop. -Monitor occupational safety and health compliance and assure timely internal and external reporting and data input into Darigold's tracking systems. Alert and advise Plant Manager and corporate EHS staff when safety and health issues develop. -Implement all aspects of EHS investigations, data analysis, recurrence prevention programs, and continuous improvement procedures. -Directly support delivery of all EHS training for all levels of employees. -Provide technical assistance and plant support for all Darigold's EHS programs as requested by the Senior EHS Manager and/or Corporate EHS Director. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: -Professional communication skills and ability to respond effectively to EHS compliance issues, inquires, and/or complaints are of critical importance. Also must be able to clearly communicate under pressure. Team leadership skills are also critical. -Analyze data, write, and submit reports. Must be able to maintain EHS compliance software systems and utilize data to drive continuous improvement. -Develop and deliver presentations on compliance topics to plant management, plant staff, and public groups when requested by the Senior EHS Manager or EHS Director. -Communicate technical and complex EHS concepts and requirements. Person in this position must be able to conduct technical training and engage employees in an effective learning experience.
Education, Experience, and Certifications: -Bachelor's degree required, preferably in Environmental, Health and Safety, Engineering, Environmental Science, Environmental Management, Occupational Safety, or a related field. Combination of associate degree and directly related EHS compliance experience may be considered. Other degree and/or experience combinations may also be considered. -2 to 3 years of directly related experience in EHS compliance; Food & beverage industry experience a plus
