Job Description The primary purpose of the aquatic instructor position is to provide safe and enjoyable instruction to the populations who exercise in the pool at the McGrane Center. The aquatic instructor is also responsible for some of the tasks that are required to keep the pool area clean, safe and accessible. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications: 1. A minimum or 3 months of exercise leadership experience preferred for On call, certifications as an aquatic group exercise instructor required for part time and full time. 2. Current Water Safety Certification, or Lifeguard Certification, required. 3. BLS Required. Current AHA Healthcare provider, American Red Cross, AHA Health Saver or KH BLS within 60 days of hire.
Essential Job Functions (Physical Requirements): Regular and predictable attendance is an essential job function. · On feet a minimum of 8-12 hours, depending on length of shift. · Frequent stooping, bending, reaching, lifting and pushing heavy equipment. · Read charts, dials, equipment settings, literature and other printed and handwritten materials. · Communicate with patients, physicians, families and co-workers in person and on telephone. · Work with equipment and manipulate equipment settings, computer keyboard, etc.
Work Environment: · Kootenai Health operates 24 hours per day each day of the year; operational needs of departments may require that you be available to work all shifts, weekends and holidays to meet the needs of the patients. · Work is normally performed in a typical interior work environment.
