A well-known company in the Tri-Cities area is looking for an IT Systems Analyst to join their growing team. This position provides highly technical support and maintenance to the information communications systems and computers, and administration of the Technology Systems and Applications.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES o Perform a variety of technical duties related to the design, development, acquisition, implementation, production support, system administration and maintenance of complex computer and information-related systems. o Provide technical advice and support to users of the company's applications. o Performs preventive and corrective maintenance on electronic revenue collection, surveillance, communications, mobile data, and other associated electronic systems. o Conduct product evaluations for upgrade of new hardware and software by identifying strengths, weaknesses, and potential benefits. o Maintain user and application level instruction and support documentation; update technical documentation such as client and application specific installation configurations, problem fixes, and vendor support. o Develop and conduct end-user training on Windows, Office, Networks, Internet/Intranet and other computer software and hardware; develop documentation and procedures for computer users and projects. o Diagnose systems in response to hardware or software problems, determine appropriate action needed take corrective action or contact vendor (as appropriate). Handles vendor services calls, monitors vendor contacts when on-site, and maintains related records. o Attend training, conferences and meetings to maintain current knowledge of technical advances in Information Technology and understanding of department functions and programs. o Provide end-to-end technical lead support for projects related to various business applications including design, configuration, installation, testing, error resolution, and proactive communication. o Participate in negotiations with vendors, outsourcers and contractors to secure software and hardware products and services. o Develop, document and maintain policies, procedures and associated training plans for system administration and appropriate use. o Assist in strategic planning and policy development covering network facilities and Agency Information Technology related issues. o Other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITY o Knowledge of current systems software, protocols and standards including software such as MS Office, Windows 7 and higher, Windows Server 2008 R2, Windows Active Directory, Crystal Reports, SQL, etc. o Knowledge and understanding of networking protocols such as TCP/IP, Ethernet and Wi-Fi. o Knowledge of data management, telecommunication systems, security and client access methods. o Knowledge of, or ability to learn, policies, procedures, and guidelines established by professional organizations and/or governing agencies. o Skills and ability to troubleshoot software and hardware; and Wi-Fi connectivity issues. o Skills and proficiency in MS Office Suite, MS SQL Server, and MS Access. o Skills and ability to read, interpret and understand electrical schematics, wiring and digital diagrams. o Ability to learn new technologies. o Ability to operate a variety of microcomputers, servers, personal computers, and related equipment including printers, interfacing hardware, terminals and software packages. o Ability to utilize office equipment and other relevant technology (software and systems) to meet business needs. o Ability to communicate technical information in written and visual forms to end users, Board members and management. o Ability to work independently and effectively apply organizational and time management skills. o Ability to exercise sound judgment in making critical decisions. o Ability to quickly make sense of, combine, and organize information into meaningful patterns. o Ability to concentrate on tasks, work with frequent interruptions or distractions, and remember details.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Management and Information Systems (MIT) or related field and two (2+) years of experience. Must be available to work flexible hours such as evenings, weekends and holidays as needed. Must possess a valid Washington State driver's license. Must pass a criminal and employment background investigation.
