  • Construction Accountant / Business Manager

We are seeking an Office/Business Manager with a minimum of 5 years of experience in the construction field office to assist a growing construction company. This individual should have a solid understanding of how construction projects are executed and managed. He or she will be instrumental in revamping our internal systems and processes while also being accountable for typical office manager responsibilities. This position will be work directly with the owner to implement change, oversee company performance and enforce internal compliance. We seek a task master that understands the necessity of getting all the T's crossed and I's dotted in a timely manner.

Responsibilities include:

I. Set Up New Systems
Overhaul bookkeeping system
Update electronic billing/payment system
Implement new cash flow management system
Implement new PO system
II. Centralize & Track´┐Ż
All quotes, contracts, CO's, PO's & invoices
Vendor info (i.e. contact, licensing and bond information)
III. AR & AP Functions
Drive receivables through invoicing & collections
Coordinate internal AP approvals, coding and issuing payments
Processing payroll
IV. Job Cost Tracking
Project performance reports (labor utilization, sub & material costs, etc)
Review/update job files & determine % completion on each job line item
V. Contract Management
Ensure CO's were created & signed quickly
Manage contract amounts to ensure proper billing & eliminate confusion
Ensure project close out packages are completed
VI. Cash Flow Management
Coordinate weekly review for approvals & adjustments
Map expenses/income (by project) to cash flow calendar
VII. General
Perform other office tasks (phones, replenish office supplies, etc.)


Requirements:

Qualifications:
5+ years in related construction role(s)
5+ years of experience responsible for collecting money (in a timely manner)
Thorough understanding of construction management phases and their flow
Experience using CSI's 16 Divisions of Construction
Quickbooks experience, specifically determining types of reports to run
Experience with Job Cost Reports & Project Performance Reports
BuilderTrend experience
Proven to identify improvements in existing processes/systems AND carry them out
Familiar with current billing, accounting and business management software
Experience setting up or integrating accounting software with a PM software suite
Ability to identify & resolve problems, inaccuracies or inconsistencies in accounting processes or data
Understand legal requirements for subcontractors & vendors in WA State
Experience handling payroll and understanding WA State requirements
Excellent ability in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook a must

PAY: $20+ DOE
Full-Time: 7:00AM-4:00PM
