Purpose of Job: Improve the overall health of the communities we serve by ensuring smooth daily operations of the obstetrics, pediatric and maternity support services programs as follows: Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Responsible for overall obstetrics, pediatric, women's health and maternity support services program management. Supervises maternity support services staff including registered nurses and community health workers. Builds obstetrics call schedules and acts as central hub of communication for obstetrics, pediatric and maternity support services programs. Participates in continuous improvement activities including staff meetings, committees and other relevant projects. Works with teams to participate in and promote trainings, develops policies and procedures and keeps staff up to date on most recent recommendations in women's health, pediatrics and obstetrics. Maintains a cooperative relationship among CHAS Health care team and outside agencies by building rapport, communicating information, responding to requests and participating in team problem-solving methods. Evaluates program activities to ensure quality patient care, effective staff relations and efficient customer service. Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications: Education/Experience: Degree in Nursing and two years of obstetric or pediatric experience preferred. Previous experience in community health care setting preferred. Supervisory experience required. Valid driver's license and auto insurance required. Skills: Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills. Excellent organization and follow-up skills required. Computer skills required. Physical Demands: Required to stand, sit, and be mobile one-third to two-thirds of the time. Required to use hands to finger, handle or feel over two-thirds of the time, as well as reach with hands and arms. Climbing or balancing occurs less than one-third of the time; while stooping, kneeling or crouching occurs between one-third and two-thirds of the day. Communicating by talking / hearing occurs over two-thirds of the day. Amount of time spent lifting or exerting force is about 50% for up to 10 pounds and less than one-third of the time up to 25 pounds. Rarely is there a need to lift more than 26 pounds. Driving frequently is required for onsite visits.
