Kootenai Health's Heart Services is a service line that encompasses a full spectrum of cardiac services. From treatment to rehabilitation to prevention, patients coming to the center will receive personalized, quality cardiac care, delivered from the heart.
Summary: Evaluates, plans, implements, and documents nursing care for an assigned patient population. Assists physician during examinations and procedures. Performs various patient tests and administers medications within the scope of practice of the registered nurse. Promotes patient's independence by establishing patient care goals and teaching patient and family to understand condition, medications, and self-care skills. Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Typical call requirements are 1-2 holidays per year and every 5th - 6th weekend from 7:00 am - 5:30 pm on both Saturday and Sunday.
Graduate of a nationally accredited Nursing program. BSN preferred. State of Idaho Registered Nurse or licensure pending as documented by temporary licensure OR current RN licensure from a state participating in the "multistate privilege to practice" compact with Idaho. Procedural Sedation experience preferred. Previous experience in PCU, Critical Care, Heart Cath, EP and IR patients preferred. ACLS required. BLS Required. Current AHA Healthcare provider, American Red Cross, AHA Health Saver or KMC BLS within 60 days of hire.
