Job Description The Pulmonary Function Technician, guided by the State of Idaho Respiratory Care Act, functions as a member of the health care team performing respiratory care diagnostic and therapeutic procedures for patients of all age groups with a variety of medical diagnoses. These procedures include, but are not limited to, the performance of Pulmonary Functions tests, Metabolic tests, Exercise Stress tests, and the administration of medical gases, aerosols, and pharmacologic agents related to respiratory care, and diagnostic testing. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications: 1. Graduate of AMA approved school of Respiratory Therapy required. 2. Current licensure as a Respiratory Care Practitioner in Idaho required. 3. Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS-C) required. 4. Certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required. 5. Credentialed as an RRT by the NBRC required. 6. Credentialed as CPFT or RPFT preferred.
Essential Job Functions: Regular and predictable attendance is an essential job function. Majority of shift spent sitting. · Frequent reaching, stooping and twisting when filing, accessing records, and answering telephone. · Ability to lift up to 25 pounds. Communicate with patients, physicians, families and co-workers in person and on telephone. Work with equipment and manipulate equipment settings, computer keyboard, etc.
Work Environment: · Kootenai Health operates 24 hours per day each day of the year; operational needs of departments may require that you be available to work all shifts, weekends and holidays to meet the needs of the patients. · Kootenai Health Clinic locations have operation hours based on locations and patient needs therefore availability to work all shifts, weekends and holidays as appropriate for location will be expected and required. · Work is normally performed in a typical interior work environment.
