Under indirect supervision, provides and manages direct health care for a specified patient population.

1. Medical doctor with 3 to 5 years of directly related experience, which may include residency in a directly related medical specialty. 2. State of Idaho and Federal DEA Certification; Medical Specialty License or Certification; Board certified or Board Eligible in Specified Area of Medical Specialty. 3. BLS Required. Current AHA Healthcare provider, American Red Cross or KMC BLS within 60 days of hire. 4. Must be credentialed per Kootenai Health policies and procedures if billing for services under Medicare/Medicaid. 5. Successful candidate must submit to post offer, pre-employment physical examination/medical history check. 6. Pre-employment background investigation required. 7. Maintain without limitation all other licenses or approvals required by any state or federal regulatory agency with jurisdiction over the provision of the Professional Services, any accrediting body from which the Hospital has sought accreditation, or any public or private payer that reimburses any of the Professional Services. 8. Have and maintain in good standing membership and full privileges on the Medical Staff of the Hospital coextensive with his/her responsibilities under this job description and comply with the Medical Staff Bylaws, Rules and Regulation and Credentialing Manual. 9. Be insured under the Hospital's medical malpractice insurance policy at a rate no higher than the group discounted rate provided to the Hospital by the Hospital's medical malpractice insurance carrier for the medical specialty. 10. Undertake such continuing medical education and similar activities as is necessary for the Physician to remain current as to the standards of practice in the medical specialty as required by state law and undertake the necessary action to stay abreast of current coding procedures and compliance and regulatory requirements in the medical specialty.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Moderate physical activity. Requires handling of average-weight objects up to 25 pounds or standing and/or walking for more than four (4) hours per day. WORK ENVIRONMENT:
KMC operates 24 hours per day each day of the year, operational needs of departments may require that you be available to work all shifts, weekends and holidays to meet the needs of the patients. Work environment involves exposure to potentially dangerous materials and situations that require following extensive safety precautions and may include the use of protective equipment. Work involves moderate exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and/or loud noises.
