A unique medical office in Seattle, WA is in need of a temporary Medical Office Specialist to assist them in a 3 week position. If you enjoy making other's smile, and are seeking to utilize your upbeat, can-do attitude, then this position is for you!
The ideal candidate will assist, support, and triage all patient concerns and questions by quickly resolving issues or finding the information needed. Management of the administrative and scheduling functions for this busy, fast-paced, but fun work environment will ensure the efficient functioning of the office and workflow. DAILY TASKS: Welcoming patients and visitors with a smile -- via phone, email, or in person Optimizing patients' satisfaction, provider time, and treatment room utilization by scheduling appointments in an effective and timely manner Comforting patients by anticipating anxieties; answering questions; maintaining the reception area; and helping patients in distress by transferring to medical staff Maintaining patient accounts by obtaining, recording, and updating personal and financial information utilizing QuickBooks; collecting payments at time of service Preserving patient appointment times by notifying provider of patient's arrival Ensuring availability of treatment information by filing and retrieving patient records Closing office at end of work hours and making the end-of-day bank deposit (remote) Protecting patients' rights by maintaining HIPAA compliance Entering patient data and information into computer software programs Contributing to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
PREFERRED EXPEIRENCE: 1-2 years' experience as a Patient Resource Specialist, preferably in a primary care setting High School Diploma or GED; higher education preferred; additional medical training a plus Superb communication and customer services skills, including exceptional telephone skills, interacting with both internal and external customers politely, professionally, and with empathy A high attention to detail with proven time management and organization skills The ability to remain flexible to accommodate a fluctuating workload in a very busy, fast-paced environment requiring multi-tasking, prioritization, and timely scheduling with a focus on quality A general understanding of medical terminology and basic healthcare procedures A willingness to learn new medical software (Hello Health) and enter data accurately Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, primarily Word, Outlook, and Excel; Access a plus Experience with referrals and lab requisitions a plus
PAY: $14 - $16 DOE Temporary: (3 Weeks) (PERM POSSIBILITY) PART TIME: 18 - 24 Hours Per Week
