Responsible for management of all hospital volunteers. Recruits and builds volunteer team and their skills, conducts outreach, and increases awareness of volunteer program. Manages volunteer scheduling, activities, and screening. Processes incoming volunteers to ensure they meet hospital requirements. Maintains volunteer files and matches volunteers with projects suited to their skills. Manages all aspects of volunteer appreciation events and assists with developing the annual budget. Manages volunteer office to include scheduling, providing information, maintaining records, ordering office supplies and generating appropriate reports. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. A high degree of creativity and latitude is expected. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Essential Job Functions: Regular and predictable attendance is an essential job function. On feet a minimum of 4-6 hours, sitting the rest of the time. Potentially moderate physical activity, including lifting, bending, pulling, and pushing. No or very limited exposure to physical risk. Read charts, dials, equipment settings, literature and other printed and handwritten materials Communicate with patients, physicians, families and co-workers in person and on telephone. Work with equipment and manipulate equipment settings, computer keyboard, etc.
Work Environment: · Kootenai Health operates 24 hours per day each day of the year; operational needs of departments may require that you be available to work all shifts, weekends and holidays to meet the needs of the patients. · Kootenai Health Clinic locations have operation hours based on locations and patient needs therefore availability to work all shifts, weekends and holidays as appropriate for location will be expected and required. · Work is normally performed in a typical interior work environment.
