Job Description Provides leadership and direction for patient accounting functions to include management of hospital and professional clinic billing operations, charge capture oversight, denial mitigation and vendor management. Performance outcomes to maximize the recording and collections of Kootenai Health net revenue from patient care. Responsible for the coordination and supervision of the hospital and professional clinic accounts receivables functions, including overall policies, performance objectives and initiatives. Ensures that account receivables are kept at an acceptable level consistent with national averages and administrative expectations. Develops and implements performance improvement initiatives. Monitors, coaches and improves staff performance and productivity Responsible for managing operational department budgets. Familiar and stays current with industry concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications: 1. Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration or a related field required. 2. Minimum of 5 years' experience in supervision or management of hospital and professional billing, collections and other related business office procedures. 3. Knowledge of current CMS and other federal regulations governing patient care and claims processing, as well as claims submission and account resolution processes for major carriers and intermediaries, with a thorough understanding of payer regulations impacting hospital and professional claims processing. 4. Experience with medical and managed care contract terminology, demonstrated knowledge of Revenue Cycle procedures, including direct knowledge of CPT, HCPCs & ICD-10 codes, and HCFA and UB04 claims submission requirements. 5. Direct, hands-on familiarity with current EMR, eligibility, registration, and claims processing systems; Epic experience preferred.

Work Environment: · Kootenai Health operates 24 hours per day each day of the year; operational needs of departments may require that you be available to work all shifts, weekends and holidays to meet the needs of the patients. · Kootenai Health Clinic locations have operation hours based on locations and patient needs therefore availability to work all shifts, weekends and holidays as appropriate for location will be expected and required. · Work is normally performed in a typical interior work environment.
