A great Seattle healthcare group is looking for a Mammography Technologist to assist their team in some vacation coverage over the next few months, with a possibility of long-term employment! This individual, under direct supervision, performs specialized examinations of the breast to help in the diagnosis and treatment of breast disease in women patients for our client facilities. Mammography Technologist may perform screening exams or diagnostic exams.
Duties and Responsibilities The Mammography Technologist is expected to practice safe procedures and adheres to radiation safety measures under the supervision of the Radiology supervisor or the Radiologist. Specific duties may include but are not limited to: - Provide high standards of patient care. - Follow workflow processes to effectively move patients through the continuum of care - Performs at least 250 mammography studies of varying types per year based on FTE status. - Performs diagnostic mammography studies. - Performs mammograms to ACR standards - Applies prescribed ionizing radiation for radiologic diagnosis - Assists physicians with specialized procedures - Completes exam paperwork, coding for billing, patient data for tracking, patient history and scans patient paperwork into PACS - Maintains stocked, organized and clean working area including equipment, tech area and exam rooms. - Works with and verbalizes issues and concerns with the Lead Technologist of Mammography. - Assists with the training of all new employees. - Maintains positive work environment by recognizing employee successes and supporting employees and management in their daily routine - Assist in ordering supplies for department and reconcile deliveries - Troubleshoots and calibrates mammography equipment per MQSA and ACR requirements - Performs other duties as assigned

Working Conditions: The Mammography Technologist must understand and accept the possibility of exposure to inside environmental conditions, such as radiation, noise, infectious/communicable diseases, blood and blood borne diseases, chemicals and/or chemical fumes, odors, gases and dusts. Frequent exposures to distressed patients, families or visitors.
Education: High School Diploma/GED required Accredited Radiologic Technology Program required
- One year of x-ray experience required - Three years? experience as a working technologist performing a minimum of 250 mammography studies per year in combination of the following studies screening, diagnostic, needle localizations, stereotactic biopsies and ductograms - preferred - MQSA Compliant (15 mammography specific CME?s within last 36 months; 200 mammograms performed within the last 24 months; 40 hours of initial digital mammography training - Ability to troubleshoot and monitor mammography equipment - Anatomy and medical terminology required. - Medical office experience preferred. - Understanding of mammography procedures to be read by radiologist. - Must physically be able to position and maneuver patients to perform mammographic studies.
Registration: Must maintain current ARRT (R) (M) ? required Licensure: Must maintain current Washington State Certified Radiologic Technologist License - required
Computer Skills: - Experience with the following computer applications is highly desired: Web Portals/internet; Kronos; Imagecast; Stentor. - The following computer applications are required: Microsoft Office Word and Outlook. Background Check: - Must be able to pass a background check to work with children under the age of 16, developmentally disabled Persons or vulnerable adults - Drug Test: Eligible employees must be able to pass a post-offer, pre-employment drug test.
