About Kootenai Outpatient Imaging
 
Kootenai Health provides diagnostic and therapeutic services for patients throughout the Inland Northwest, northern Idaho and eastern Washington. Kootenai Outpatient Imaging is a 50/50 joint venture with Kootenai Health and Kootenai Imaging.  Outpatient imaging services include MRI, CT, ultrasound, mammography, nuclear medicine, PET/CT and general radiology.  Services are provided at four locations on the main hospital campus and offsite locations in Coeur d'Alene and Post Falls.  State-of-the-art technology, skilled radiologists and staff working in a strong team environment create a rewarding work environment providing over 77,000 exams in 2016.
 
Diagnostic imaging allows physicians to look inside the human body to gather information about a patient's medical condition. By using diagnostic imaging technologies, physicians can view images of anatomical structures inside a patient's body.
 
Most inpatient procedures (including all MRIs) are administered during regular office hours at Kootenai Clinic. All other outpatient imaging procedures are administered in through Kootenai Outpatient Imaging.
 
 
About the Patient Account Representative Job
 
As a Patient Account Representative you schedule and register patients for all types of imaging studies. In this role you communicate with patients, physicians, families and co-workers in person and on the telephone. You will verify patient demographics, medical necessity, valid orders and pre-authorizations as well as processes patient payments. In this job you will review patient account information to confirm that payer specific billing requirements are met, pre-authorizations are obtained and updates accounts as needed. Another important part of this job is preparing medical records for scanning. May use i-Site to verify and burn images onto CD/DVD as needed. You will process a variety of incoming and outgoing faxes.
 
This position is Full Time with variable 10 hour shifts.
 
Shift Information
 
·         Operating Hours & Shift Length - 10-hour shifts, start and end of shift vary, depending on the role staffing hours are between 5:30am-6:30pm.
·         Location - you may be asked to float to one of the four locations.
 
Requirements & Minimum Qualifications
 
Education
·         Minimum of high school diploma or GED required.
·         Medical terminology, ICD9/10, CPT, HCPCS, and coding conventions desired.
 
Experience
·         Minimum of six months prior customer service experience required.
·         Knowledge of general business procedures, registration, collection, billing rules and regulations are required.  
·         Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and Commercial billing requirements preferred.
·         Knowledge of how to read and interpret insurance billing and coverage bulletins, HIPAA, ABN, MSP and other payer regulations preferred. 
·         Working knowledge of hospital information systems such as Meditech preferred.

·         Accurate by touch keyboarding skills with 35 wpm minimum typing speed.
 
Availability
·         Must be available to work varying 10-hour shifts, (4 days / 40 hours a week). Days, Evenings, Weekends, and Holidays. Monday - Saturday.
