We are seeking a knowledgeable and friendly help desk technician to assist a large manufacturing company on a contract/temporary basis. The Help desk technician will be responsible for working with the IT Specialist providing assistance and support related to computer systems, hardware and or software. Responds to queries, runs diagnostic programs , isolates problem and determines and implements solutions.
Responsibilities: Serving as first point of contact for customers seeking technical assistance over the phone and /or email. Respond to queries either in person or over the phone. Write training manuals. Train computer users. Maintain daily performance of computer systems. Respond to email messages for customers seeking help. Install, modify, and repair computer hardware and software. Run diagnostic programs to resolve problems. Resolve technical problems with Local Area Networks (LAN), Wide Area Networks (WAN), and other systems. Direct unresolved issues to the next level of support. Install computer peripherals for users. Create and maintain reports. Record events and problems and their resolutions in logs. Identify and suggest improvements on procedures.
Requirements: 2-3 years? experience as a help desk technician or other customer support role. Tech savvy with working knowledge of office automation products, databases and remote control. Good understanding of computer systems, mobile devices, printers and other devices Ability to diagnose and resolve basic technical issues. Customer oriented and cool tempered. Report writing experience, utilizing MS Access, ODBC, SQL, desired Ability to work independently and in a team environment. Good analytical skills, coupled with excellent written and oral communication skills to explain technical information to system users.
Position is located in West Spokane but does require travel to North Idaho location at least one day per week.
