Associates Injury Prevention Coordinator

Kootenai Health located in North Idaho in the town of Coeur d'Alene. We are home to one of the busiest emergency departments in Idaho, and are a Level II (State) and Level III (ACSC) Trauma Center. Coeur d'Alene is home to 55 lakes and three major ski resorts. We have an abundance of hiking trails, excellent fishing and tubing rivers and scenic drives. Job Summary:

Responsible for reducing the burden of injury and improving trauma care within the North Idaho Region through injury prevention and public education programs; continuing education for pre-hospital providers and other health care professionals. Promotes the organization as a tertiary referral center by establishing and maintaining relationships with referring agencies and community members throughout the region.  Assess the needs of the community in regards to injury prevention utilizing trauma registry data and local/state statistics. Assists in preparation for review by the American College of Surgeons and other agencies. Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department.  Performs other related duties as assigned. 
If you have the following qualifications then please apply, you won't regret it!  
1.    Licensed RN in the State of Idaho required, BSN preferred.
2.    Minimum 3 years of experience in Emergency, Trauma or Critical Care required.
3.    TNCC, ENPC, PALS, ACLS preferred.
4.    CEN preferred.
5.    BLS Required.  Current AHA Healthcare provider, American Red Cross, AHA Health Saver or KMC BLS within 60 days of hire. 
Ideally, you will have the following skills as well: 
·         Flexible schedule; ability to work occasional Saturday's; Ski Schools, Health Fairs, etc.

·         Strong public speaking, and experience speaking with children.  
·         Friendly, with a good sense of humor. 
·         Excellent organizational skills; will be responsible for the Injury Prevention Coalition. 
·         Grant writing experience preferred.
