Drafter Department: Engineering Status: Full time, non-exempt Reports To: Manager of Engineering Purpose : The purpose of the Drafter is to develop detailed construction drawings in AutoCAD following the direction of an Engineer or Designer. Job Duties: 1.Develops and drafts detailed construction and record drawings in AutoCAD following drafting conventions. Drawings may involve substation designs, construction standards, or parts and material layout and development. 2.Checks the form, fit and function of the design using scale drawings. 3.Prepares parts lists. 4.Responsible for maintaining record drawing sets for Cooperative facilities including substations. 5.Assists the engineering staff as needed.
Job Requirements: 1.Education/Experience: Two (2) year degree in one of the Applied Science fields or formal training in drafting with at least two years recent experience with AutoCAD.
2.Knowledge and Skill a.Proficient in AutoCAD. b.Knowledgeable of Conventional Drafting Standards. c.Knowledgeable of 3D Drafting Techniques using AutoCAD. d.Highly motivated. e.Excellent interpersonal skills. f.Attention to accuracy and detail. g.Strong PC skills and ability to effectively use current KEC computer systems jValid Idaho Driver's License
3.Mental Demands: a.Moderate to complex mental demands, including being able to lay out workable designs on AutoCAD to scale. b.Able to calculate tolerances and check the fit and function of designs. c.Ability to schedule work to meet changing and multiple deadlines. d.Ability to maintain a positive attitude, even during stressful work situations. e.Ability to complete work assignments and projects within established timelines while dealing with frequent interruptions.
5.Working Conditions a.Comfortable surroundings - primarily office environment b.Travel to substations and construction sites may be required c.Use of office machines, including plotters, computer monitor, keyboard, mouse, and related peripheral devices
