Job Description Manages daily operations of the BI teams. Responsible for all strategic, tactical, operational, financial, and technical resource managerial responsibilities associated with the all BI related functional areas. Manages all direct technical and analytical support for quality data and metrics throughout the Kootenai Health network. Evaluates, analyzes, designs and maintains the network's quality and claims data analytical system. Facilitates the collection and reporting of relevant clinical metrics and financial claims data in a manner that facilitates and fosters performance improvement. Works collaboratively with systems stakeholders and staff to modify existing programs or processes to gather and report data as necessary. Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is expected. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications: 1. Bachelor's degree required, emphasis in Information Science, mathematics, business management or related discipline preferred. Minimum of 7 years' experience with clinical decision support, finance, quality and/or claims data analytics in a healthcare related setting. Experience in building and supporting BI/analytics Knowledge of relevant IT systems (e.g. EMR, risk adjustment, disease registry and care management). Strong analytical and conceptual skills evidenced by experience developing decision support information in a healthcare setting. Excellent leadership and organizational skills, ability to understand and interpret complex issues and processes to recommend actions.
Essential Job Functions (Physical Requirements): Regular and predictable attendance is an essential job function. Majority of shift spent sitting. No or very limited physical effort required. No or very limited exposure to physical risk. Communicate with patients, physicians, families, and co-workers in person and on the telephone. Work with equipment and manipulate equipment settings, computer keyboard, etc.
Work Environment: · Kootenai Health operates 24 hours per day each day of the year, operational needs of departments may require that you be available to work all shifts, weekends and holidays to meet the needs of the patients. · Work is normally performed in a typical interior work environment.
