Purpose of Job: Improve the overall health of the communities we serve by coordinating and scheduling dental staff and ensuring proper facilitation and management of patient care as follows:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: - Manages systems that maintain the CHAS Health Dental clinics as a business unit. - Collaborates with Clinic Administrators, Dental Support Supervisors, Dental Services Specialist, and Directors of Operations to maintain smooth day-to-day operations of the sites. - Works closely with finance department to identify and pursue revenue opportunities to ensure sustainability of dental department. - Applies clinical and service quality knowledge and analytical skills to direct dental process improvement activities and improve CHAS Health dental program performance metrics. - Works with Dental Services Specialist to implement best practices and standardization. - Collaborates with Quality Improvement to ensure that CHAS Health dental programs are aligned with the organization's Quality Improvement Program - Coordinates staff schedules to maximize patient access. - Oversees dental department budgets, manages expenses, and maintains inventory control. - Evaluates dental activities to ensure quality patient care, effective staff relations, and efficient customer service. - Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications: Education/Experience: Bachelor's degree or commensurate experience in business, health administration or related field. Health care business experience in a small to mid-sized company preferred.
Skills: Must be innovative, analytical and have strong business acumen. Must have demonstrated competency in managing a department for a small to mid-sized company. Computer skills required. Strong interpersonal and communications skills required.
Physical Demands: Sitting at a workstation between 1/3rd and 2/3rds of the day. Able to move around the facility over 2/3rd of the day. Reaching, using hands, climbing, stooping or crawling less than 1/3rd of the day. Communicating is also required over 2/3rds of the day. Lifting is minimal but could be as much as 25 lbs. occasionally.
