A well-established Marketing Firm is looking for a Temporary Controller to join their Downtown Seattle Team and assist with year-end (Q1). DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITES (Include but are not limited to)
� Oversee the accuracy and productivity of day-to-day accounting activities. � Maintain the financial records in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and Cost Accounting Standards. � Oversee timely completion of monthly closing activities including balance sheet reconciliations, preparation and posting of journal entries, and reconciliation of subsidiary ledgers. � Prepare monthly management reporting package: including, but not limited to, Balance Sheet, Income statement, Cash Flow Statement, Variance Reporting, and Project Reporting. � Monitor key performance indicators as defined by the Chief Financial Officer � Serve as a financial resource to all Company personnel � Ensure budget accurately input into accounting system � Interface with customers, vendors, external CPA firm(s), banks, insurance agents, credit card companies, and collection agencies as directed by the Chief Financial Officer. � Facilitate completion of the annual financial statement compilation, incurred cost audit, and annual/quarterly federal tax filings. � Work with Client Services Team and Project Accountants to ensure project budgets accurately entered into accounting system. � Proactively review and develop policies and procedures to increase efficiency and effectiveness across all departments to improve profitability and enhance internal controls. � Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal reporting requirements; oversee preparation of reports to government and regulatory agencies.
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance or Accounting, CPA preferred 3 - 5 years of progressive accounting experience in either private or public accounting Thorough knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) Strong communication skills, ability to handle tight deadlines Strong MS Office skills including excel and word Experience with Deltek accounting software a plus
