About the General Surgery Unit
 
Our General Surgery unit is staffed with safe, compassionate and engaged team members. The General Surgery Unit manages acute medical surgical patients with a wide range of diagnoses and care needs. This unit is a part of the Care Innovation and Transformation (CIT) collaborative, one of 10 units selected from across the nation to participate in the cohort.
 
·         Number of Beds - 30
·         Number of Staff - 33 RN's, 21 CNA's, and 3 HUC's
·         Typical RN to Patient Ratio - 1:5
·         Average Patient Turnover Rate - 75%
 
 
About the Job

As a CNA you will perform various direct patient care activities under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. You are the perfect fit if you enjoy a job that is fast pace, uses critical thinking, and you have a passion for providing excellent patient care. In this job you will assist patients in dressing or undressing, bathing, or eating. As a CNA you will collect non-invasive body fluid specimens or gathers vital signs but will not start or administer intravenous fluids. You will aid physicians and nursing staff members with procedures if needed. In this job you will also document patient interactions as needed. 
 
Minimum Requirements & Qualifications:
 
Education
- Minimum of High school diploma or GED required.
 
Experience
- 1 year of experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified preferred.
 
License/Certification
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) required.
 
Availability
- must be available to work any and all shifts: Days, Nights, Weekends, and Holidays.
