A Manufacturing company in Seattle is seeking a temporary Accounting Manager for 3-6 months. The ideal candidate will work with the CFO, manages, controls and/or supervises corporate accounting, including Cash Management, General Ledger, Inventory, Accounts Payable (temporary), Accounts Receivable, Payroll, Fixed Assets and Budgeting in accordance with US GAAP. Monitoring and improvement of internal financial controls, systems, process improvements, compliance and procedures that reflect best practices for the company and adhering to strategic goals and corporate values.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
General Ledger: Responsible for all aspects of Corporate General Ledger and monthly closings according to company deadlines Assists in maintaining the corporate monthly closing schedule and coordinates with various departments and headquarters to ensure compliance with the schedule Maintains general ledger, supervises the review of Accounts Payables and Accounts Receivable and oversees the preparation of all journal entries Helps to insure compliance with government regulations
Cash Management: Assists in controlling and maintaining minimum bank balances Ensures compliance with cheque signing policies and signs cheques as required
Budgeting: Assists in the preparation of annual financial plans and department budgets, providing monthly budget vs actual reports to department managers for review.
Payroll: Ensures that all payroll related expenses are properly coded Ensures accurate and timely payment of payroll
Accounts Payable: Responsible for reviewing AP aging noting any significant aged AP and determining the reasons. Reviews all supporting documentation, noting appropriate approvals, for cheque runs prior to cheques being signed Reviews all supporting documentation for appropriateness and proper accrual of expenses and invoices.
Accounts Receivable: Responsible for reviewing AR aging noting any significant aged AR and following up on the collection of significant aged AR
Inventory: Helps to ensures accurate inventory valuation, inventory security, coordinates and reports monthly inventory variance analysis, manages cycle and annual inventory counts
Fixed Assets: Oversees F/A accounting
Leadership, supervision and development: Proactively assist and develop the accounting team, mentoring, coaching and providing development or learning opportunities, supervising and managing tasks and ensuring that duties are carried out effectively, in a timely manner, and in accordance with job descriptions, company policies and corporate values
Bachelor Degree in Accounting, CPA preferred Experience and medium skill level in using ERPs Minimum 5 years working experience with at least 2 years in a managerial position in a global company environment with previous experience of managing a team Experience in cost accounting and cost standards/variance analysis environment Good knowledge of US accounting and tax regulations Advanced MS Excel and MS Word required Must be able to prepare advance level analysis through the use of spreadsheets and word documents Good understanding of other MS Office applications such as MS PowerPoint and Outlook Diligent and performs duties with a high level of integrity and trust Able to recognize and resolve problems quickly using sound judgment and diplomacy Willing to tackle problems and find solutions
PAY: $40-$50 hourly DOE Temporary: 3-6 months w/ potential of becoming permanent!
