A Seattle based electrical contractor is looking for a dynamic, self-motivated, detail oriented Accounting / HR Assistant with a strong work ethic and desire to learn and grow within a position! The ideal candidate must be able to prioritize tasks and work well with others as well as on their own. Requirements include a firm understanding of the GL and subsidiary ledgers, A/R, A/P, and payroll experience as well as a strong understanding of basic HR functions and SPECTRUM SOFTWARE experience is highly desired.
ACCOUNTING JOB DUTIES: - Weekly, process payroll - Record deposits when requested - Calculate and make 941 deposit, record in accounting software - Review time sheets for completeness and accuracy, enter in software, upload file to bank - Process child support, garnishments, 401k loans, etc. - Prepare 401k spreadsheet, upload, make 401k deposit, record in accounting software - Familiar with Prevailing Wage and Fringe Benefit processing - Track eligibility for health insurance and 401k, distribute forms accordingly - Track and log all payroll reports
HR DUTIES: - Calculate vacation accrual - Review and ensure all paperwork is completed correctly, file accordingly - Request/track W9s, ensure we have for all vendors - 1099, 1096 reconciliation, preparation and submission - General orientation -- who to contact for what, general policies, procedures, etc. - Main POC for employees, fill out required forms for any injury - Maintain OSHA log, fill out Form 300
REQUIREMENTS: Experience with Spectrum accounting software is required Background in construction industry/office preferred Associates Degree or higher
